Arctic UAV, the Apex-based company that specializes in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and systems (UAS), took the Ukpik HEF32 out for a test flight in early April.

“We had a wonderful time,” said chairman and chief executive officer Kirt Ejesiak.

“It’s something we’ve been talking about as a company – to offer a testing facility. That was a good dry run for other companies that are wanting to come out to test their gear.”

One such company is expected in May.

Ejesiak and his crew were testing the unmanned helicopter system Ukpik HEF32, for which they signed a distribution agreement for Canada, Greenland and Alaska with Netherlands company High Eye BV late last year.
